​SecuriGroup at the OSPAs: Celebrating our Finalists

This week SecuriGroup had the pleasure of attending the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) event where the company and our team were shortlisted in a number of categories. The OSPAs recognise companies, teams, and individuals who lead the way in security excellence.

Whilst we unfortunately didn't come away with a win, being shortlisted highlights the strength and depth of talent within SecuriGroup, as well as our ongoing commitment to innovation, inclusion, and outstanding service delivery. We are proud to celebrate our shortlisted nominations:

Outstanding Security Team – Silverburn Team

Our Silverburn team has been recognised for their exceptional professionalism, resilience, and daily commitment to keeping one of Scotland's busiest retail destinations safe and welcoming. Their nomination reflects strong partnership working and consistently high operational standards.

Outstanding Security Officer

Derek Littlejohns – Wetherspoons

Derek was shortlisted for his exceptional commitment, professionalism, and positive influence in his role. Derek consistently demonstrates strong situational awareness, excellent stakeholder relationships, and a reliable presence on site. His nomination reflects his enthusiasm for security work, his ability to lead by example, and the beneficial impact he has on operations every day. 

Neville McGlashan – Royal Albert Hall

Neville's nomination recognises his strong performance at the Royal Albert Hall, where he is known for outstanding reliability, professionalism, and client engagement. His conduct has earned significant praise from both management and clients. Neville's work contributes meaningfully to site safety, smooth daily operations, and SecuriGroup's reputation for excellence .


Youssef Vernege‑Fanus – 61 Southwark Street

Youssef was shortlisted for his exemplary customer service, professionalism, and the consistently positive feedback he receives from clients and tenants. Known for being welcoming, dependable, and highly effective in managing front‑of‑house interactions, Youssef is a standout representative of SecuriGroup's frontline excellence.


Outstanding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative – Secure Your Path

Our Secure Your Path initiative has been shortlisted for its forward‑thinking approach to inclusive recruitment and workforce development. Designed to support young people and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds into a career in security, the programme reflects our belief that a truly representative workforce strengthens both our organisation and the communities in which we operate.

Outstanding Sustainability Award

Our sustainability strategy, from carbon neutrality to circular uniform initiatives and pioneering ESG work, has been recognised at the highest level once again. SecuriGroup's long‑standing commitment to environmental leadership, climate responsibility, and innovation in sustainable operations continues to set the benchmark across the industry.

Lifetime Achievement Award – Allan Burnett

Allan Burnett built a distinguished policing and security career, leading counter‑terrorism, major events, and equality initiatives. His work shaped policing strategy, frontline development, and private‑sector security growth. Widely respected, he mentored colleagues, advanced training and EDI standards, and continued contributing expertise nationally and internationally after retirement.

Strengthening Society

This year's shortlist reflects not just excellence across individual roles and departments, but a company‑wide culture driven by our core purpose of Strengthening Society, from sustainability leadership and inclusive opportunity creation to frontline excellence and team resilience. A fantastic day celebrating our incredible people! Every single day, they do amazing things, whether it's saving lives or raising the alarm to prevent a fire and protect property. For them, this is just part of the job.Earlier this week, we took the time to recognise and reward the individuals whose actions strengthen our communities every day, truly living our core purpose. Well done to everyone!It was a heartwarming day, hearing from managers and colleagues who had travelled from all over the UK. Around 40 awards were presented across life-saving events, fire prevention, protest support, front-line excellence, and management support roles and more. Each award highlighted the dedication, courage, and teamwork that make our communities safer and stronger, a real reminder of the amazing people behind the job.

Today we are spotlighting an education success story at SecuriGroup. Recently, our Specialist Service Lead, Brian McLaughlin, completed training with Intelligencia Training, the UK's most experienced provider of vocational intelligence training. The course covered areas such as Intelligence Theory, Applied Intelligence Analysis, and Communication of Intelligence Products, helping Brian refresh his knowledge, upskill, and excel within our Intelligence Department.At SecuriGroup, we are proud to invest in our people and their education to enhance their careers. Brian joined us as a Door Supervisor several years ago and has now progressed into intelligence, a great example of how we develop talent, retain our best people, and demonstrate the importance of education in career growth.
